As a result of viewing this workshop, the viewer will be able to:

   2. establish the foundation needed to get started in interpreting in mental health settings

Caution: The information provided in this workshop is not sufficient for the interpreter to address all possible situations that might arise in the mental health setting. Further training and the development of a relationship with a mentor - a certified interpreter experienced in the mental health setting or a clinician fluent in English and ASL - are recommended.

To obtain CEU credit, the mandatory activities will ask for you to do some research on local mental health resources, do some role-playing (additional person not mandatory), answer some multiple-choice questions, and fill in some short answer questions.
